Save the Children Sweden targets all levels of society with a clear message: Violence against children, including physical and humiliating punishment, is a breach of children’s rights and it must end.
Save the Children and partners raise awareness of children’s right to protection against violence, and provide practical guidance on how to raise children in ways that uphold their rights. Examples include public and parental education, promoting non-violent family relationships through training on non-violent childrearing. We also encourage changes in education systems such as the creation of child-friendly environments where violence is not used in classroom management.
Our advocacy efforts aim also to break gender stereotypes and discriminatory practices that contribute to violence.
